The Bridge is a service of the North American Mission Board's Adult Volunteer Mobilization Team.
The North American Mission Board (www.namb.net) assists
Southern Baptist in their task of fulfilling the Great Commission in the United States, Canada and their territories
through a national strategy for sharing Christ, starting churches and sending missionaries, in
cooperation with Acts 1:8 Partners.
The Adult Volunteer Mobilization Team (www.namb.net/vols)
facilitates short-term mission trips among Southern Baptists, typically lasting one week to four months.
Through The Bridge, people are connected with needs. Information is exchanged between Southern Baptist missionaries,
churches, campgrounds, and ministries that need volunteers, and Southern Baptist volunteers and churches that want help.
Appalachian Regional Ministry (www.arministry.org) is a
mission response to the spirtual and physical needs of persons living in the impoverished Appalachian region.
It brings needs and resources together in this area which includes parts of Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio, Maryland,
North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Baptist Builders (www.namb.net/bbuilders) is a
network of Southern Baptist volunteers who assist local congregations with their construction needs. This may include some or
all of the planning, construction, and occupancy phases. Baptist Builders also help individuals and families impacted by
disaster in long-term rebuild projects.
Campers on Missions (www.namb.net/campersonmission)
is a national fellowship of Christian campers who share their faith while they camp from state fairs and motor speedways
to rural campgrounds, Campers on Mission combine a love of the outdoors with ministry throughout North America.
Disaster Relief (www.namb.net/dr) is a well-organized
ministry of volunteers and mobile units that meet critical physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of people
affected by disaster. Southern Baptist Disaster Relief is one of the largest disaster response organizations
in the United States, working in close partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency/Homeland Security,
American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, and other organizations active in disaster relief.
Families on Mission (www.namb.net/fom) is a pre-packaged,
week-long family mission trip that allows the whole family to participate in missions together. Parents can
be ''hands on'' in guiding their family through devotions, projects, worship, discussions, and interaction with
resident missionaries and the community. Mission activities include acts of kindness and other evangelism events,
light construction and painting, yard work, prayer walking, and others.
Operation NOAH Rebuild (www.operationnoah.net)
is a three-year partnership project (through August 2009) between New Orleans churches and associations, the Louisiana
Baptist Convention, and the North American Mission Board to help New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
Volunteers rebuild homes; start, restart, or strengthen churches; and reach people with the good news of Jesus Christ.
